Speaker Bio: Scott Whitney

Scott Whitney, President and CEO, Podworx, LLC

On August 1st, 1996, Scott Whitney released what would now be considered among the very first IntracastsTM, or internal corporate podcasts. Titled Radio NetFRAME, the show featured original music, product updates, executive interviews, a "game show" and show introductions from employees in the field. Delivered as a cassette tape, Radio NetFRAME was mailed to every sales person in the company. And the feedback was outstanding.

Fast forward to 2006. Today, by combining over a decade of sales and marketing experience with 25 years of audio production expertise, Scott is the President & CEO of PodWorx, LLC the first pure-play podcast consulting firm in the Las Vegas Valley. To ensure a repeatable/trackable methodology toward the design, development and deployment of a corporate/business podcast, PodWorx developed The Four P's of PodcastingTM which sets out to educate sales, marketing, advertising and branding professionals about how to effectively Plan, Produce, Publish and Promote their business or corporate podcast. PodWorx broadcasts the Podcasting for Business podcast as an additional educational tool for these professionals.

Scott's first podcast, the Great Relaxation Music podcast, resulted in a 23% increase in sales for the website. His Living In Las Vegas podcast has been featured in The New York Times and the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The show also lead to an in-studio interview on National Public Radio and has been selected as a "New and Noteworthy" Yahoo podcast. Prior to the launch of PodWorx, Scott implemented an internally developed sales and marketing technique that helped him sell over 40,000 copies of his own music CDs to started TimbreWorx Music, Inc., which sells branded music CDs performed by the best undiscovered artists in the country.

Before jumping into the entrepreneurial waters in 1998 (with Whitney Communications, Inc., a high-end website development firm), Scott was Director of Financial Services & Electronic Commerce Marketing for Compaq Computer Company and Director of Channel Development for NeFRAME Systems.
