Speaker Bio: Ken Balog
Ken Balog, VP of Sales - Web Events, VCall
A proven senior executive, Ken Balog has over 15 years of sales, marketing, business and strategic development, and management experience including over 10 years of audio, web and video teleconferencing experience. Prior to joining Vcall, Mr. Balog was COO and partner at Communicast, a web conferencing service designed for web events. In 2004, Mr. Balog sold Communicast to WILink (Vcall's parent company) and was retained as Vcall's Vice President of Sales.
Prior to this Ken spent seven years at American Teleconferencing Services, Ltd. (n.k.a. Premiere Global Services (NYSE: PGI)), where he created, from scratch, ATS' business development department and was responsible for launching the first streaming audio and web conferencing services in the teleconferencing industry. In addition, Mr. Balog launched and acted as the first General Manager for ATS' wholesale conferencing division. During Ken's tenure at ATS, the company grew from $2M to over $50M and was acquired by Premiere. After the acquisition, Mr. Balog was promoted to Vice President of Strategic Development at Premiere.
Mr. Balog has developed strategic partnerships with values ranging from $1M to over $50M and has negotiated and formed alliances with Nokia, Broadcast.com, IBM, Contigo Software, Sun Microsystems, Netscape, Qwest, and PRNewswire, to name a few.
Mr. Balog has presented on how to use technology to market products at numerous software, wireless and communications industry conferences. In addition, he has published articles on the same topic for publications such as Marketing News and Software Marketing Journal.
Mr. Balog is a graduate of The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio where he studied international business and marketing. He is an avid sports player (golf and racquetball) and fan. He is married, has two children and resides in the Richmond, Virginia area.
