Speaker Bio: Chuck Tomasi

Chuck Tomasi, ChuckChat.com

Chuck has been a true tech-head since childhood. With more than 25 years of experience in the computer field Chuck has a broad knowledge of hardware and software. Starting in the early 1980s with an Apple II and working on a wide variety of DOS, Windows, Unix, and Mac platforms, Chuck isn't afraid to dive in and get the most out of whatever system he has access to.

Chuck lives with his wife and two children in Appleton Wisconsin where he is an IT Manager by profession. He has been doing software development and IT Systems Administration for 20 years. From networking, to PDAs, to a wide variety of programming languages and operating systems, Chuck's experience covers a lot.

Discovering podcasts in November of 2004, Chuck immediately knew this was something he had to do. Less than a month later ChuckChat.com was launched. As time went on and the show matured there came a division between the family and fun stuff and the true grit techie stuff. On May 1, 2005 the show split in to two distinct shows.

ChuckChat Freestyle is all about family, fun, news, and interviews. Join Chuck and his family as they take soundseeing tours, go skiing, take a cruise, join the family at an amusement park, and more. Between events they discuss news of the day in an audio blog format.

On Technorama Chuck and his co-host Kreg Steppe take a light hearted look at the geek world. Hardware, software, Internet sites, science and science fiction are all fair game. Technorama also brings special interviews with people in the geek field including such notables as Leo Laporte (from This Week in Tech), Patrick Norton (from DL.TV), Kevin Rose (from Digg.com and Diggnation), Steve Wozniak (the co-founder of Apple Computer), and Adam Savage (from Discovery Channel's Mythbusters). For an idea of what Technorama is about, mix Jon Stewart's "The Daily Show" with "Bill Nye The Science Guy", and you'll have an idea.

In December 2005 Chuck launched his third podcast aptly titled "Gmail Podcast". Gmail Podcast is a collection of short tips, tricks, and hints to help get the most out of your Gmail account. The concept for the show came when Chuck realized he had been using Gmail for a few months, there were a lot of untapped features, and decided that others might benefit from a podcast as he learns the software. "If you want to know a subject well, teach it." was Chuck's comment. Now thousands listen to, and email Chuck for Gmail support.
