Speaker Bio: Ben Williams

Ben "Bendrix" Williams, Digital Media Tips N Tricks

Ben Williams has a BA in Advertising Graphics. In 1997 he graduated with Honors from Central State University where he studied graphic design, with an emphasis in illustration and computer graphics. He has been in the broadcast and media industry for over nine years and using computers for over twenty-eight. Six of those years have been spent as the New York City digital media specialist at JWT (J Walter Thompson), the fourth largest and the oldest advertising agency in the world. In July, he created a new position for himself as a podcast - digital marketing strategist. He is apart of an experimental department within the agency.s entertainment division titled The Nursery. JWT is the first ad agency to incorporate podcasting, video portals, and social networks as a marketing strategy.

Over the past eleven months Ben has gradually built up a portable media network of three independently produced audio and video podcasts: Digital Media Tips and Tricks: technology, Beneath the Beat: Hip Hop, and Beneath the Beat: Electronica. Codedsignal.com is the website and holding pin for all the media that he produces and will host on the site. All of his media properties are available through iTunes, Youtube, Myspace and other online digital outlets. His press credentials have allowed him to travel throughout the country covering major trade shows, expos, and events. Mr Williams has been invited to cover events for Flash Forward, NAB (National Association of Broadcast), the annual Legends of Basketball Vegas conference, the NBA All Star game, and the NBA Hall of Fame.

In July he was published as a featured video podcaster in the 2nd edition "Secrets of Pocasting" by Bart G. Farkas. In July He spoke on a panel at the Annual Urban League Conference; the topic relating to packaging and marketing your image. This September he will be the sole video podcaster speaking at the 2nd annual Podcast Media Expo. Which will teach people how to leverage trade shows and web portal communities to build brand equity.

In November 2005 Ben video blogged the first ever Podcast & Portable Media Conference. It is generally accepted that he was the "first" vLogger to podcast video footage of the 2005 conference, one hour before the keynote. His viral coverage of the Expo was so effective that it increased his viewer-ship ten fold purely on word of mouth buzz among the podcasters.
